LA CHOUETTE / Local currency of Dijon

Finalist proposal for the graphic design competition for the local currency of Dijon: La Chouette.

The front sides of the banknotes are graphically inspired by the different patterns created by the glazed tile roofs, so representative of Burgundy's craftsmanship.

The reverse side refers to gastronomy (the city of wine), the climate of Burgundy, the architecture with Notre-Dame de Dijon and finally the Dukes of Burgundy. The monetary symbol created uses the most recognisable parts of the owl's anatomy, the eyes and the beak.
